FLAT GRAVE MARKERS
Our Flat Grave Markers are 4" thick and come in your choice of Granite Colors and sizes. We can cut a marker to any size you need. We can also make any design into a single or a companion (couples) marker; and we can take any emblem, symbol or design and customize it into what you want.

UPRIGHT MONUMENT HEADSTONES

Upright monument headstones are tablet style gravestones that sit on a granite base and set on top a granite foundation. They can vary significantly in shape and size, limited only by specific cemeteries and their regulations. Individual monuments are generally taller than they are wide, while double monuments (companion monuments for couples) tend to be wider than they are tall - allowing more space for the engraving of two names. Each of our designs can be personalized for use as either an individual or a companion tablet, with or without any included bronze or other design element pictured. At Memorials And Monuments, we specialize in custom upright monuments.

A slant monument is nothing else than a simple short grave marker tablets with a slanted face, and like upright tablets must sit on a foundation, usually with a granite base. A 2" flat area on the front of a slant monument is called "nosing," and can be polished or rock-pitched. A slant monument with no nosing is called a "full-face" slant. Full-faced slanted memorials are placed on a granite base in the cemetery, while slant monuments with nosing may be placed directly onto a foundation. This type of memorial is excellent for custom engraving and personalization.

PILLOW MARKERS

Pillow grave markers are similar to flat grave markers but with a slightly slanted face, created from having a higher back edge, and often sit on a granite base in the cemetery. Pillowed gravestones may be personalized with custom shapes, sizes, or headstone designs.
GRANITE BENCHES

Set on a foundation a bench may sit on a granite base. Benches also vary significantly in shape and style and may contain carved or bronze elements. MONUMENT BENCHES

Monument-benches (or monubenches) are simply granite benches combined with an upright tablet or statue. It is also common for bronze statues to be a part of a monubench. They can vary greatly in shape and style, and lend themselves well to creating unique memorials. At Memorials And Monuments, our creativity in this area has allowed us to become a leader in creating custom monument benches.

MAUSOLEUM UNITS & FAMILY GRANITE COLUMBARIA


Columbarium or Private Mausoleum units can range from very large granite buildings or monuments typically located at cemeteries or churches, to private family columbarium memorial units. Mausoleums entomb full caskets, while columbaria contain niche units which house urns containing cremated remains. The granite plates covering a crypt or niche unit may be removed, and are held back in place by one of several different types of locking mechanisms. Some units contain what are called "rosettes," which are small knobs that connect to the locking mechanism and help in removing the granite plates. Optionally, small bronze vases can be installed for the placement of flowers on a specific unit.

BOULDER POLISHING AND ENGRAVING

River rocks and boulders are both beautiful and unique; they have become a more and more popular choice for engraving over the last few years. We regularly polish and engrave local boulders for use as memorial stones, garden markers, benches, signs for business, and home address markers. We take care in finding, cutting and hand polishing these local boulders to bring out the unique patterns and colors of each stone.

MONUMENT SIGNS AND GRANITE PLAQUES

Let us create a stellar granite sign, often referred to as outdoor signs, exterior signs, or entrance signs for your business. The most common use for monument signs is for exterior signs for businesses, or entrance signs for subdivisions (apartment homes, condominiums, housing developments; etc.) - often coupled with landscaping and brick or stonework.

We all love seeing a clean, shiny granite memorial or grave marker. Regular maintenance and cleaning with the right tools can keep your monument looking like new in the cemetery for years to come.
